Code of Conduct for Members Undertaking Activities on behalf of the Society

Member Board have reviewed the Member Conduct Rules, and alongside those they also reviewed the Code of Conduct for Members Undertaking Activities on behalf of the Society. The Code is intended to support members with their work with committees, boards and working groups; to assist and guide them in understanding their roles; and to set out the expectations that we have of our members, and which you may reasonably have of each other, when undertaking activities and when making decisions within those activities. The Code is also intended to guide Chairs, and others leading pieces of work, in enabling robust debate, whilst maintaining respectful and professional interactions.

I encourage you to take a few moments to familiarise yourself with the Code (below), and to make use of its advice in continuing with the productive work that you are undertaking on behalf of the Society.

The Board of Trustees has approved a Code of Conduct for members undertaking work for the Society. All Member Network committee and working party members are required to agree to the Code of Conduct.

Declaration of interest

This is a formal process that all Society committee and working party members need to complete, so that the Society can hold a register of members’ interests for all Boards, committees, standing committees and working groups in order to comply with Charity Commission guidelines. For full details on this, please download the Declaration of Interest Guide.
